Chris took over the vocals. In 2001 CORE emerged as the core trio of all bands mentioned above and of the foregoing 13 years. In 2002 CORE was signed (by French XIII Bis Records) and the debut "away" was released. "Away" treated the topic of moving on and was a pretty well-defined nu rock record. The album gained great reviews on an international basis, the track "The Angle" became a hit for the gamers' community as it was featured on the videogame "Smackdown vs. Raw".
As if the band didn't want to make things too comfortable for the fans and for themselves, the follow-up album was an acoustic one! Reviewers called "Halfplugged" "one of the most astounding records" emerging from Austria.

Anyway, soon it would be time to plug in again and rock hard. "Perfect Summer" (2006) was the band's next release-a powerful mix of stoner rock elements and some heavy stuff, even a cover version of Nelly's "Hot In Herre" in a crossover-metal-version. "Perfect Summer" was the first release on CORE's newly founded record label, Corecosmos Recordings. Again the music gained some international reception, as a couple of songs were featured in MTV's series "Viva La Bam" and "Meet The Barkers".
2008 came, the 20th anniversary for the collaboration of Chris, Harry and Sascha. For some months, it seemed that history would repeat itself and that the crisis of a band at its decay could pop up once again. CORE seemed to stagnate. And if the music sucks, the mood inside the band, of course, does the same. (And vice versa.)
